I am Ben — founder of Hinterland Journeys and someone who has never stopped trying to understand the world.
My travels have taken me through Southeast Asia, America, and East Africa—through deserts, jungles, and high mountains, mostly on my own. In some countries, I not only traveled but lived: Indonesia, Thailand, Tanzania, Mexico, and the Philippines.
Not to tick places off a list, but to truly know them.
From these years Hinterland Journeys was born — for people who are not looking for the next tourist attraction, but the feeling of having truly been somewhere else.
I work with smaller local partners who know their region like almost no one else.
Every journey arises from exchange.
And she should leave something behind — with the local people,
